Receiving acupuncture for the first time can be scary. Here are a few of the more common questions we hear. If your question isn't answered here, please reach out. We love to talk shop and help ease anxieties.

Does acupuncture hurt?
Overall - no.
Will I feel anything? Sometimes.
What will I feel? Most of the time you won't feel anything with the insertion of the acupuncture needles. Other times you will feel sensations like heaviness, a throb, a tingle. If you ever feel pain and it doesn't go away within a few minutes, the point will be adjusted. If that doesn't help, it gets removed and we move on.

What do you put on the acupuncture needle?
Nothing! This is a very common question. Acupuncture needles are sterile, stainless steel, filiform needles. That just means they are sterile - nothing on them and they are only ever used once on you. Filiform means that they are solid.

What do I wear and how long will I be there?
Loose fitting clothes are the best, but that's not an option for the day, we have blankets to cover you with.
